Dry Skin Got You Tight, Flaky, and Irritated?

Skin need a pick me up?
I should switch my skincare routine in the winter months, but I never do. The winter months can be drying on every crevice of our skin, all of our skin. It is really important that we pay attention to this so we can give our skin what it may be asking for! The answer is hydration. Whether you have oily, combination, dry, or normal skin, chances are whether it's the wind, the snow, or the temperature the winter most likely will affect you.
If we're talking face, serums may end up being your best friend. When looking for a serum to combat dry skin or dry areas of your face, an easy answer is a hyaluronic acid - which you can read more about in this blog post: Hyaluronic Acid and The Reasons You Should Get Behind It. Let's say you already own a hyaluronic acid serum, some other key ingredients to look for when choosing serums are aloe, licorice extract, vitamin e, and glycerin.
There are also several harsh ingredients to avoid in both serums and moisturizers as they can dry out your skin. When looking for hydrating products, steer clear of parabens, sulfates, phthalates, and artificial fragrances. Some of my go-to serums for my skin are First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Hydrating Serum and Glow Tonic Serum by Pixi.
On to the body, if you're dry all around too, you can try exfoliation and super hydration. Save your money, make a home scrub, and moisturize with coconut oil or shea butter. Always moisturize after you shower, and don't forget your elbows, knees, and feet!
