How Drinking Water ACTUALLY Improves Your Skin
Written By: Jasmine Amabile
As someone who doesn't have anywhere near perfect skin, I often ask others for their skincare secrets. If you're like me and you almost loath the response of, 'I just drink water' then don't click out just yet, you'll want to read this!
I am highly doubtful that just drinking water is really the cure to smooth, clear, glowing skin. It most definitely could be a combination of genes, skincare routine, diet, stress level, hormones, and water. BUT if drinking more water is a real game-changer for improving skin, let's figure out how.
You've read Gut Health for Skin Health, right? Diving into hydration, ask yourself first if you actually like water. Whether that answer is yes or no, here are some key reasons you should hydrate more, and how it'll improve your skin. *It helps the digestive system flush out toxins in the body like junk food and alcohol, and it can also fight breakouts by decreasing the amount of oil on the skin, lessening the chance of clogged pores and breakouts.
How much water should someone drink? Since every person is different, there are a few things we can do to be sure we're staying hydrated. Purchase a time-stamped water bottle that indicates how much water to finish by a certain hour in the day or divide our body weight in half and drink that number in ounces. An example being, if you weigh 130 pounds, drink 65 ounces of water in a day.
Always do what is best for you, but remember, hydration is important!
